Tuesday was “Boycott SeaWorld” Day, and we brought our A game. But we weren’t the only ones, as compassionate people around the world—including some of our favorite celebrities—took action for the orcas, dolphins, sharks, and other marine animals who’re cruelly confined at SeaWorld‘s parks.
Stars used their fame and influence to tell millions why they’re choosing to #BoycottSeaWorld:

#BoycottSeaWorldDay the most disgusting and cruel actions towards animals daily, and they have been getting away with it for YEARS! @SeaWorld the only way we’ll see change is if we stand together and fight for the beautiful animals that can’t speak for or defend themselves!

It was a very painful first two attempts, but the third time was a charm! And apparently today is #NationalBoycottSeaWorldDay, so enjoy! #SeaWorldSucks @seashepherd pic.twitter.com/m82rd4vZrW

It’s #BoycottSeaworldDay & the mistreatment and exploitation of these beautiful and intelligent orcas needs to stop. Watch #Blackfish, educate the people around you and give the these poor orcas a voice. #SeaWorldSucks #ForTheAnimals https://t.co/EYeYhQf1pp

Animals have voices, and feelings, and purpose. I don’t go to any exhibits where animals are being abused and separated from their families. I practice what I preach, and I preach compassion for all. #BoycottSeaWorldDay #boycottmarineland @peta

Footballer Chad Johnson, actors Ruby Rose and Alicia Silverstone, model Crystal Hefner, and others retweeted our first #BoycottSeaWorldDay tweet of the day:
[SOUND ON] This is so powerful ❤️ Last year on #BoycottSeaWorldDay, the same day as Kyara's death, #vegan actor & activist @jamesocromwell TOOK OVER #SeaWorld's show with an important message. pic.twitter.com/tmYOGLkSQm

PAPER Magazine and Billboard even got in on the action, sharing our new feature with Bella Thorne:

Other compassionate folks around the globe took to Twitter to blast SeaWorld and its cruel ways:

How can anyone honestly think that orcas would prefer to circle in small tanks while children scream at them over like, the whole ocean? #BoycottSeaWorldDay

Local Florida activists stood outside the company’s Orlando park to ask passersby to boycott SeaWorld and to urge it to move the orcas to seaside sanctuaries:
Thanks to everyone who came out for Boycott Seaworld Day yesterday, which took place at all of the #Seaworld parks across the country. #BoycottSeaworldDay

And you know that PETA got in on the action. We went live on Facebook not once but twice—first, to share footage from our San Antonio demo …
LIVE: This “orca” is trapped in a tank in downtown San Antonio, #Texas showing people why they should never buy a ticket to SeaWorld. #BoycottSeaWorldDay

We even created a Facebook frame so that folks could tell the world (or at least the internet) that they’re boycotting SeaWorld:

peta2—PETA’s youth program—came up with a clever way to encourage its followers to dump on SeaWorld:
peta2 asked its members to take a picture of a toilet and tag a SeaWorld park, and they did not disappoint.
And, of course, we joined our fellow SeaWorld haters on Twitter to share a few thoughts of our own:
PETA is placing this billboard near #AAA's #Arizona office so they get the message LOUD AND CLEAR #BoycottSeaWorldDay
